Overview
North East Derbyshire (North) Adult Social Work Team are seeking to recruit an experienced Social Worker to join our friendly, community-based team of Social Care Practitioners and Social Workers. The team are highly supportive and operates on a largely agile, flexible basis across North East Derbyshire, utilising link worker and champion roles to carry out Care Act (2014) assessments and reviews.
Responsibilities
* Evidence high levels of autonomy and accountability with timely recording of interventions to progress overall case management.
* Demonstrate skills to build positive, professional links with partner agencies such as Health, Police, Housing and Private, Voluntary Independent sectors.
* Identify signposting opportunities to support carers, maximise independence and individual wellbeing with a focus on person-centred, strength-based and cost‑effective outcomes.
* Respond to changing situations to effectively cover, triage and assess incoming work to support Adults and their carers who may require a more urgent response.
* Evidence experience and skills to manage a complex caseload while meeting statutory duties in a safe, accountable and cost‑effective manner to meet Care Act (2014) eligible needs alongside local authority statutory duties of care.
* Lead on Section 42 Safeguarding, chair multi‑agency meetings (e.g., Multi‑Agency Risk Management), and complete Mental Capacity Act (2005) assessments, including Best Interest meetings, COP-DOLs and court work.
* Note: training and support available to develop skills in these areas.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Qualified Social Worker with current registration.
* Experience of working in adult social care and managing complex caseloads.
* Ability to work with partner agencies and demonstrate person-centered, strength-based practice.
* Ability to respond flexibly to changing workloads; ability to work within Care Act requirements.
* ASYE candidate preferred; sponsorship not available; current staffing levels may influence shortlisting.
