VANRATH is recruiting a Senior Quantity Surveyor to work within the Building Maintenance department for a large, leading Construction Company in Aberdeen, Scotland.

Overview:
Lead all commercial, financial, and contractual aspects of multiple projects, focusing on profitability, legal and contractual compliance, and proactive management of commercial issues. Oversee applications and valuations, ensure prompt subcontractor payments, and align activities with company policies. Play a key role in guiding commercial strategy and project delivery from a financial and contractual perspective.
Key Accountabilities:
1. Project Financial Management: Manage project budgets, forecasts, financial reports, cost control, and cash collection. Provide strategic insights to maximize profitability.
2. Contract Administration: Lead contract preparation, negotiation, and finalization. Ensure obligations are met and legal risks minimized.
3. Procurement and Tendering: Supervise procurement, evaluate bids, and select subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring value for money.
4. Cost Valuation and Reporting: Oversee valuations, payments, final accounts, and profitability reporting. Identify risks and opportunities.
5. Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate financial and contractual risks to protect the company's interests.
The Ideal Candidate:
* Degree qualified or relevant qualifications
* Extensive experience as a Quantity Surveyor
* Proven track record in senior roles with high-value projects
* Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and practices
* Advanced knowledge of contract law, regulations, and safety standards
* Excellent commercial, negotiation, and communication skills
* Experience in social housing or maintenance projects is preferred
* Good IT skills
* Ability to work under pressure and manage time effectively
