Assistant Team Manager – Adult Disability & Hospital Teams

Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council is hiring two Assistant Team Managers to lead our Adult Disability Team based at Moat Lane and our Hospital Team based at Churchill House. The role requires strong leadership, person‑centred practice, and the ability to manage teams across multiple locations.


Key Responsibilities

* Lead and supervise staff to embed a strengths‑based model of assessment and support, promoting independence and well‑being for people with learning, physical, and autism needs.
* Take responsibility for day‑to‑day operational management of the team, working with the Team Manager.
* Ensure services are delivered in a person‑centred and strengths‑based way, achieving better outcomes for people, carers, and families.
* Supervise and quality‑assure staff work, ensuring compliance with professional practice, legal and directorate requirements.
* Participate in the Hospital Team weekend rota; additional payment will be made for two increments.
* Work from various locations within the Solihull borough, with a hybrid office/home model.


Required Qualifications

* Professional social work qualification and current Social Work England registration.
* Evidence of continuous professional development.
* Substantial post‑qualified experience in Adult Social Work services.
* Experience in providing professional supervision to others.
* Knowledge of relevant legislation.
* Demonstrable experience delivering person‑centred and strength‑based practice.
