BAS delivers and enables world-leading interdisciplinary research in the Polar Regions. The ship is world leading in its scientific capabilities and regularly carries out science trials across the world with a driven focus on the Antarctic regions. Within the role, there will be an opportunity to develop role specific skills to compliment your time on the ship. There will also be standard training provided that is specially developed for Polar travel. Some of your main responsibilities will include: • To provide hotel services to the requirements of the Chief Cook and Senior Steward • To assist in food preparation, which includes, but is not limited to, daily preparation of cold meats and salads. • To assist in the daily cleaning of mess room. • To assist in the preparations serving of buffets and dinner/catering functions as required.
