Who will you be working with?
A Division of Wabtec UK Ltd, Northampton-based firm Bearward Engineering manufactures radiators for the power generation industry and is currently recruiting for a Manufacturing Engineer – Health & Safety Project Support.
Role: Purchasing Coordinator
Salary: £Competitive
Location: Northampton, (NN4 8HJ)
Hours: Monday to Thursday, 08:00am to 16:30pm, and Friday 08:00am to 15:30pm
Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time
How will you make a difference?
The Purchasing Coordinator will play a key role in managing supplier relationships, onboarding new suppliers, and ensuring smooth operations across the supply chain. This position will also handle all general accounts payable queries related to suppliers, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies. The role requires a proactive, highly motivated individual who can work autonomously while collaborating effectively with internal teams and external partners.
What will your typical day look like?
* Managing supplier relationships by onboarding new suppliers, maintaining accurate records, and acting as the main point of contact.
* Supporting accounts payable activities by handling supplier queries, resolving invoice discrepancies, and ensuring timely and accurate payments.
* Coordinating across procurement, finance, and production teams to support smooth material flow and operational delivery.
* Monitoring and improving supplier performance by escalating issues where needed and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
What do we want to know about you?
* Previous experience in a supply chain, procurement, or accounts payable role within a manufacturing environment.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
* Understanding of ERP systems and supplier onboarding processes.
* Demonstrable verbal and written communication skills for liaising with suppliers and internal teams.
* Attention to detail with managing data and financial transactions.
