HVAP Data Centre Shift Leader Harlow £64,000
Introduction:
A fantastic opportunity has opened for an experienced HVAP Shift Leader to join a leading facilities services provider at a high-profile data centre in Harlow. This role is ideal for an electrically biased professional with a strong background in critical environments and proven leadership experience.
Role Overview:
You will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations and leading a dedicated engineering team in a live data centre environment. The position operates on a continental shift pattern, requiring hands-on involvement in both technical and managerial aspects of site maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
* Leading a team of engineers on a continental shift rota (4/6/4/4/3/3/4)
* Managing HV systems and operations across the site
* Carrying out HV switching, writing switching schedules, and leading critical operations
* Overseeing reactive and planned maintenance for all electrical systems
* Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and site RAMS
* Acting as the senior point of contact during shifts for all technical escalations
* Managing shift reports, logs, and engineering handovers
* Driving team performance and training development
Qualifications & Experience:
* 35 years experience in a lead or supervisory role within a critical/data centre environment
* City & Guilds Level 3 or NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering
* Valid HV Authorised Person certificate
* Proven experience carrying out HV switching and writing switching schedules
* Solid understanding of critical systems including UPS, generators, and BMS
* Experienced in RAMS, permit to work systems, and health & safety leadership
* Excellent communication and organisational skills
