As Design Me Consultants enters its 20th year of business, we continue to experience significant growth across Scotland and the wider UK. To support our expanding workload, we are looking for an enthusiastic Graduate / Intermediate Electrical & Mechanical Engineers to join our Glasgow office.
You will work closely with our experienced team of Mechanical, Electrical, Public Health and Sustainability Engineers on a wide variety of projects ranging from housing developments and healthcare facilities to commercial, industrial and public sector buildings.

Electrical Roles
Key Responsibilities
* Assist in the design of electrical building services systems including:
* Power distribution
* Lighting design & Emergency Lighting
* Fire Detection & Alarm systems
* Data and communications infrastructure
* Renewable energy technologies
* Prepare electrical calculations, reports, specifications and schedules.
* Produce engineering drawings and coordinated BIM models using AutoCAD and Revit.
* Undertake site surveys and inspections.
* Assist with electrical load assessments and infrastructure studies.
* Participate in multidisciplinary design coordination meetings.
* Liaise with architects, clients, contractors and external stakeholders.
* Support the delivery of projects from feasibility through to construction.
* Ensure compliance with BS 7671, Building Regulations and industry standards.
* Work within Design Me's Quality Management procedures.
* Assist in preparing technical reports and tender documentation.
* Maintain project records and timesheets.
* Continue professional development through training and CPD activities.
Qualifications & Experience Essential
* Degree (BEng/MEng) in Building Services Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Good analytical and problem‑solving ability.
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
* Strong organisational and time management skills.
* Competent in Microsoft Office applications.
Desirable
* Previous Building Services Consultancy experience.
* Experience using AutoCAD, Revit MEP.
* Knowledge of Amtech, Trimble ProDesign, Dialux, Relux or similar design software.
* Awareness of low‑carbon technologies and Net Zero design strategies.
Mechanical Roles
Key Responsibilities
* Assist in the delivery of Mechanical Building Services designs from concept through to construction.
* Prepare mechanical design calculations, reports, specifications and schedules.
* Produce and coordinate engineering drawings using AutoCAD and Revit.
* Support the development of sustainable and energy‑efficient building solutions.
* Undertake site surveys, inspections and condition assessments.
* Assist with plant room layouts, spatial coordination and services integration.
* Participate in multidisciplinary design team meetings.
* Liaise with architects, structural engineers, contractors and clients.
* Ensure designs comply with current regulations, British Standards and industry best practice.
* Work within Design Me's Quality Management procedures and project delivery systems.
* Assist with technical submissions and tender documentation.
* Support project delivery to agreed programmes and budgets.
* Maintain accurate project records and timesheets.
* Continue professional development through training, CPD and progression towards chartership.
Qualifications & Experience Essential
* Degree (BEng/MEng) in Building Services Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Good analytical and problem‑solving ability.

* Previous experience within a Building Services Consultancy environment.
* Experience using AutoCAD.

* Understanding of UK Building Regulations and relevant industry standards.
* Awareness of low‑carbon and Net Zero design principles.
