Base pay range
Core subject (Maths, English, or Science) SEN / SEND Tutors for Young People with SEND, SEMH, and other Additional Educational Needs required in West Sussex.
Multiple positions are available, and hiring is ongoing to meet the wide variety of needs we support.
We are on a mission to transform the quality of education provided to young people with SEN (Special Education Needs) / SEND (Special Education Needs and Disabilities), as well as other needs such as SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health). We are increasing support for children and young people with MLD (Moderate Learning Difficulties) and SLD (Severe Learning Difficulties).
We are looking for SEN / SEND tutors with a genuine passion for transforming the lives of disengaged, at-risk, and vulnerable learners in West Sussex.
At Targeted Provision, our mission is to raise the standard of educational support offered to vulnerable young people in the UK. We keep the team around the child, and you will be supported throughout every placement by our team of SEN / SEND Support Specialists.
This role is perfect for qualified SEN / SEND teachers eager to work via 1:1 tutoring with children and young people with diverse learning needs, in a creative, flexible, holistic, and trauma-informed manner, to increase engagement and improve their educational outlook.

The SEN / SEND Tutor Role
* Providing Maths, English, or Science tuition to young people with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, or other additional needs referred by local authorities and schools
* Supporting young people in their educational and social-emotional development through flexible, trauma-informed tutoring and mentoring
SEN / SEND Tutor Tasks and Responsibilities
* Planning engaging and needs-based sessions
* Delivering holistic sessions to support educational and social-emotional progress
* Completing lesson reports and providing feedback on progress
SEN / SEND Tutor Requirements
* Professional teaching qualifications (QTS / QTLS)
* Minimum 2 years teaching experience
* Experience working with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, or related needs
* Knowledge of safeguarding policies
* Enhanced DBS (assistance available at cost)
* Two professional references
* Must be based in the UK with right to work, even for online roles
It is essential that you can promote the health, safety, and wellbeing of children and young people and adhere to safeguarding policies.
Employment Status
* Engagement as a Worker for short-term placements
* Paid via PAYE, through a contract for service
* No guaranteed workload or expenses coverage
* Insurance covers your work with us
* This is not a self-employed position

Relevant Roles and Experience
Candidates with experience as SENCo, SLD/MLD Teacher, Autism/ADHD Support Teacher, Intervention Specialist, or similar roles are encouraged to apply. Other relevant backgrounds include Learning Support Assistant, Educational Therapist, Speech and Language Therapist, Educational Psychologist, or Inclusion Coordinator.
