Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Paralegal to join our client’s busy Property Department. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build or develop a career in property law, with hands-on experience in residential and/or commercial transactions.
Initial Focus:
The successful candidate will primarily assist with post-exchange and completion matters, supporting the team in ensuring transactions are processed efficiently and in line with legal and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Managing post-exchange procedures, including preparing completion statements and handling pre-completion checklists
2. Liaising with clients, solicitors, lenders, and other stakeholders during the completion process
3. Assisting with submission of SDLT forms and Land Registry applications
4. Ensuring accurate and timely processing of documents and correspondence
5. Maintaining and updating internal case management systems
6. Supporting fee earners and solicitors as needed
Future Development:
Following initial training, responsibilities may expand to include:
7. Opening new files and conducting conflict checks
8. Assisting with Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Know Your Client (KYC) checks
9. Preparing initial client care packs and documentation
Key Skills & Attributes:
10. Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
11. Strong written and verbal communication
12. Ability to manage deadlines and handle multiple tasks
13. A proactive and team-oriented approach
14. Experience in a legal environment is desirable but not essential
Qualifications:
15. A degree in Law or completion of a legal qualification (. LPC/SQE) is desirable, but not required
16. Previous property or conveyancing experience is a plus
