About the Company
Our client is a well-established civil engineering contractor with an annual turnover of approximately £9 million. They deliver a diverse portfolio of projects including bridges, infrastructure, groundworks, drainage, and public realm improvements. With a strong order book and continued growth, they are now seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to join their leadership team.
The Role
As Contracts Manager, you will oversee multiple projects from award through to completion, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time, and within budget. You will provide strategic direction, manage client relationships, and support site teams in achieving operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and oversee several concurrent civil engineering projects
Lead project planning, programming, and resource allocation
Monitor budgets, costs, and progress, implementing corrective measures when required
Maintain high standards of health, safety, and quality
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and stakeholders
Provide leadership and support to project and site managers
Prepare reports, attend progress meetings, and contribute to project strategy
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Contracts Manager or Senior Project Manager within civil engineering
Strong technical knowledge across infrastructure, groundworks, and general civils
Excellent commercial awareness and ability to manage budgets
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Full UK driving licence
