Finance Business Partner Contract Type Permanent Working Pattern Full time - flexible working may be considered Working Hours 35 hours per week Salary £44,000 plus benefits package Location Options Birmingham with part of the week working from home Function Type Corporate Functions (HR, Finance, Project Management, IT, Risk and Audit) We are looking for a qualified accountant to join our Finance team as a Finance Business Partner. This role offers a great opportunity for accounting professionals from an audit background looking to transition into a business partner position or those who already have business partnering and strong accounting experience who are interested to explore a different sector. Finance Business Partner roles at the SRA cover three entities that form part of, or are connected to, the SRA group - SRA Limited, the Compensation Fund and the Solicitors Indemnity Fund (SIF). Each entity has its own unique operational and accounting characteristics offering variety in the role. The role In the role of Finance Business Partner, you will be the face of the finance function to your business areas providing trusted advice and support to business leaders and budget holders. You will equip your business areas with skills and tools to take strategic financial decisions and have greater financial accountability, enabling the SRA to use finance resources efficiently and effectively in line with strategic goals. This includes timely delivery of monthly management accounts, cash forecasts, and quarterly reports, ensuring smooth external audits and effective annual modelling. You will contribute to the year-end accounts preparation and audit process, ensuring high-quality deliverables and a robust audit trail. Confident in communicating, you will make sure that effective financial controls operate across the business areas and that financial risk is understood and minimised. Working collaboratively with the Head of Finance and the wider Finance team, you will help develop and deliver training for all finance requirements to the business. To be successful in this role you must be capable of influencing stakeholders, have an acute awareness of governance and the capability to provide trusted advice and pragmatic solutions. What we are looking for Fully or part qualified Accountant; we will also consider non-qualified applicants with relevant and applicable experience. Understanding and practical experience of balancing strategic business and Finance requirements, and accounting standards and best practices. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, to effectively influence and build meaningful and trusted relationships. Strong ethos of continuous improvement and delivering an excellent service to customers. Relevant technical and operational skills, including accounting and operational systems and Microsoft Office. Previous year-end accounting and audit delivery experience gained in an organisation of a similar size or larger. It is predominantly home-based with attendance at our Birmingham office 1 to 2 days per week. This is a full-time role working 35 hours per week.
