Your new companyYou will be joining an industry-leading Tier 1 civil engineering contractor delivering a major highways project in Nottingham. Due to continued success, they are actively seeking a Site Agent to join their delivery team.
This is a full-time permanent position based in Nottingham.
Your new roleAs Site Agent, you will take full responsibility for the safe, efficient and high‐quality delivery of a section of works on the project. Reporting to the Project Manager, you will lead site operations, manage engineering and site teams, and ensure the project is delivered on time and within budget.
Key responsibilities will include:
* Managing the day‐to‐day delivery of highways and civil engineering works
* Leading site teams, including Site Engineers, Agents and Forepersons
* Ensuring works are delivered in line with programme, design and quality standards
* Overseeing subcontractor performance and coordination
* Driving health, safety and environmental compliance across site activities
* Managing short‐term planning, progress reporting and resource allocation
* Administering NEC contracts, including change control and documentation
* Working closely with commercial and engineering teams to ensure project success
This is a hands‐on leadership role offering real ownership, autonomy and the opportunity to make a tangible impact on a major infrastructure scheme.
What you'll need to succeedTo excel in this role, you will bring:
* Proven experience as a Site Agent or Sub Agent within the highways and/or public realm sectors
* Experience managing site teams and subcontractors on complex projects
* Solid understanding of NEC contracts
* Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills
* A proactive, solutions-focused and safety-first mindset
* CSCS, SMSTS, First Aid and a full UK driving licence.
