Deputy Health and Safety Manager

Location: Working across the Group – Wakefield, Castleford and Selby Colleges
Salary: £36,474 to £38,690 per annum
Hours: 37 hours per week
Weeks: 52 weeks per year
Are you ready to take the next step in your Health and Safety career? We are looking for a proactive and knowledgeable Deputy Health and Safety Manager to join our Estates team to help ensure a safe, compliant and positive environment for all staff, student and visitors across our Campuses.
This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a values-driven education group, where your expertise will directly support the wellbeing and success of our college community.
You will be required to:
1. Support in developing, testing and maintaining the Group’s Incident Management and Business Continuity plans
2. Support in the development and delivery of annual programme of Health and Safety training for the Group, such as Fire Safety, Manual Handling, and DSE Assessments
3. Monitor national security alerts and guidance, ensuring the Group remains responsive
4. Contribute to continuous improvement of Health and Safety policies, procedures, and risk assessments.
5. Assist in managing RIDDOR reporting and liaising with HSE/EHO as required

You will have:
6. GCSEs in Maths and English A*-C/9-4 or equivalent
7. NEBOSH Certificate
8. Membership of IOSH or actively working towards
9. Full clean UK driving licence – as travel between sites will be required
10. First Aid at Work qualification, or willingness to achieve
11. ISO9001 – Internal Auditor, or willingness to achieve
