Salary: £30,377 – £32,079
A specialist independent provision is seeking a committed, adaptable and pupil‑centred Maths & English Tutor to support learners with diverse and complex needs. This role is ideal for someone who values flexibility, creativity and meaningful impact.
The Role
As a Maths & English Tutor, you will deliver engaging, accessible learning across GCSE and Functional Skills pathways. You will work with small groups and on a 1:1 basis, adapting your teaching to meet varied learning styles and emotional needs.
Key Responsibilities
1. Deliver personalised lessons in Maths and/or English at GCSE and Functional Skills levels
2. Adapt teaching approaches to support pupils with SEMH and neurodiverse profiles
3. Create differentiated, engaging resources
4. Work collaboratively with the wider team to meet EHCP outcomes
5. Monitor and report progress in a meaningful, pupil‑centred way
6. Build positive, trusting relationships that support emotional regulation and confidence
About You
You will be someone who is:
7. Experienced in GCSE or Functional Skills delivery
8. Confident supporting pupils with SEMH and neurodiversity
9. Calm, patient and creative in your approach
10. Skilled at building rapport and fostering a safe learning environment
11. Flexible and able to tailor learning to individual needs
12. Passionate about helping young people re‑engage with education
