Overview
As a Support Worker in our Extra Care Scheme, your primary responsibility is to assist elderly individuals who are experiencing physical frailty, helping them maintain as much independence as possible. This includes supporting people with restricted mobility by aiding them in moving safely to dining areas for meals, communal spaces for social engagement, and back to their own rooms when requested. The role also involves assisting with personal care activities such as washing, personal hygiene and dressing. You will have opportunities to participate in physical and mental stimulation by taking part in recreational and social activities with people, both individually and as a group. The core aim of this role is to promote independence, choice, dignity and respect, consistently delivering care to a high standard.
Responsibilities
* Assist with mobility and transfers to dining areas, communal spaces, and private rooms as requested, ensuring safe movement.
* Support with personal care activities including washing, personal hygiene and dressing.
* Engage residents in physical and mental stimulation through individual and group recreational and social activities.
* Promote independence, choice, dignity and respect, and deliver care to a high standard.
