The Store Manager will create and sustain a pleasant and hospitable work environment and excellent customer relationships in order to motivate staff and meet sales goals.
Duties And Responsibilities
1. Responsible for creating a pleasant and hospitable work environment and maintaining good customer relationships.
2. Ensure compliance with accounting, employee, and store policies.
3. Meet sales, production, and expense budget goals to maintain profitability.
4. Ensure all products are properly displayed on the sales floor.
5. Participate in hiring processes, including reviewing applications and conducting interviews, and recommend candidates to the Administrator or Store Supervisor.
6. Conduct regular evaluations of store personnel, identify performance strengths and areas for development, recommend training, and issue written warnings when necessary.
7. Hold monthly staff and safety meetings, ensuring all safety policies align with Salvation Army and government regulations.
8. Schedule staff to ensure full store coverage, including posting weekly work schedules with assignments, breaks, and vacation.
9. Review and approve employee timecards and paid time off each pay period.
10. Order merchandise to keep the store stocked, ensuring proper ragging out and color coordination according to the ARC Rag Out Calendar.
11. Provide training and supervision for new and existing employees as needed.
12. Manage cash receipts, safeguard funds, and adhere to the 'Safekeeping of Salvation Army Funds' policy.
13. Complete and submit sales reports and paperwork to the finance department daily.
Additional Responsibilities
1. Report site visits and communications from OSHA, CPSC, or local inspectors to the Administrator, verifying credentials.
2. Attend manager meetings and update store personnel on new policies.
3. Protect property and report hazards, damages, or injuries.
4. Support work therapy programs by exemplifying professional conduct and work habits.
5. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.
Qualifications
* High school diploma or equivalent.
* Experience in sales.
* Leadership and motivational skills.
* Ability to interpret income and expense reports.
* Good communication skills.
* Valid driver’s license with an acceptable DMV record.
