1. Has knowledge of homelessness legislation (Housing Act Parts VI & VII) and welfare benefits
2. Can manage a varied caseload and work under pressure to deadlines
3. Is confident working with vulnerable households and managing challenging situations
4. Has strong communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills
5. Can build effective relationships with landlords, agents and partner organisations
6. Has good IT skills and attention to detail in record keeping
7. Is committed to delivering high quality, customer-focused services
About Us
8. Allocating temporary accommodation in line with legislation and suitability requirements
9. Procuring accommodation from landlords, hotels and agents within agreed cost limits
10. Inspecting properties, managing voids and ensuring health & safety compliance
11. Supporting households to move into longer-term housing options, including private rented accommodation
12. Liaising with landlords and providers to resolve repairs and tenancy issues
13. Conducting viewings and property visits (including lone working)
14. Preparing decision letters and maintaining accurate case records
15. Working to service targets and statutory obligations under the Housing Act
