Job Description

We are looking for someone who is comfortable working to tight deadlines, particularly around month end, and who can manage detailed financial data while liaising with internal reporting units, shared service centres and audit teams.

Key Responsibilities

1. Running a daily cash flow report using bank statements from a major banking client, compiling data into the existing Daily Deviation Report to identify variances between cash forecast and cash actual
2. Producing weekly and month-end Sales Ledger reports from Navision for an Accounts Receivable ledger valued at approximately £80m, covering around 5,000 invoices and credit notes
3. Managing intercompany invoicing across UK and global legal entities, following up on both Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable invoices to ensure accurate and timely processing
4. Assisting with month-end cash allocation by supporting the clearance of payments and providing remittance advices to enable accurate posting by the shared service centre
5. Supporting the preparation of month-end commentary reports, including compiling, distributing, collating responses from reporting units and submitting final outputs to Treasury
6. Providing copy documentation such as bank statements and remittance advices, particularly to support year-end and statutory audit requirements
7. Responding to audit enquiries during audit periods, resolving queries raised by internal and external audit teams
8. Undertaking credit control activities by following up aged debt with reporting units, investigating overdue invoices, unallocated items, and requesting refunds or unused credit notes where applicable

Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications

9. Experience in a Credit Control, Accounts Receivable or Sales Ledger role
10. Strong understanding of cash flow reporting, including comparing forecast versus actual cash positions
11. Experience producing weekly and month-end sales ledger reports within a high-value, high-volume AR environment
12. Practical experience of month-end processes, including cash allocation and reporting under tight deadlines
13. Experience managing intercompany invoicing across multiple legal entities, including both AR and AP
14. Exposure to audit activity, including responding to audit enquiries and providing supporting documentation
15. Confident working with financial systems and reports, including extracting, compiling and validating large data sets
16. High level of accuracy and attention to detail, particularly when handling cash, aged debt and reconciliations
17. Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet competing deadlines
