Take leadership pf a local perinatal improvement team that is responsible for the planning, oversight, measurement and delivery of the priorities within the Maternity and Neonatal Safety Support Programme Discovery Report, both locally and nationally.

Be responsible for the local implementation of evidence-based interventions and a portfolio of improvement projects, working with a broad range of stakeholders to support appropriate and aligned improvement strategies.

Work with both local perinatal teams and the Wales Maternity and Neonatal Strategic and Implementation Networks in the coordination and delivery of programme to ensure its successful implementation.

Main duties of the job

Provide clinical programme support and expert quality improvement knowledge to local maternity and neonatal teams.

Contribute to the planning of and delivery of local and national MatNeoSSP meetings and events that focus on priorities and facilitate shared learning.

Support the ongoing review and development of local improvement plans, ensuring they are responsive to the programme needs.

Communicate highly complex and specialist advice and information relating to specific clinical improvement projects.

Use negotiating skills to persuade. motivate, influence and inspire and lead others to improve services through successful communication, negotiation and persuasive skills.

Qualifications & Knowledge

Essential criteria

1. Educated to Masters level or equivalent level of training and/or experience
2. Have a good understanding of quality improvement methodologies, patient safety knowledge and expertise

Desirable criteria

3. Hold a recognised quality improvement qualification, such as Improvement in Practice

Aptitude & Abilities

Essential criteria

4. Self-motivated, enthusiastic with excellent communication skills
5. Have strong clinical leadership
6. Are passionate about improving outcomes and experience of perinatal services
7. Proficient in the use of standard Microsoft software, such as Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel and Powerpoint

Desirable criteria

8. Welsh language skills are desirable level 1-5 in understanding, speaking, reading and writing in Welsh
