Project Engineer – Water Industry
We are currently recruiting for a Project Engineer to join our Water Consultancy business. As a Project Engineer you will provide technical leadership and guidance to a project team focused on delivering water quality solutions to ensure accurate and efficient project delivery in terms of quality, time, and budget.

As a key member of the Water Consultancy business, your role as Project Engineer is critical to helping us deliver great projects for our Water Industry clients. You will be working alongside a multi-disciplinary team of water project experts on a range of capital delivery projects.

Your Responsibilities
* Manage a project team to deliver work to clients.
* Provide guidance and support to less experienced colleagues within your project team and beyond.
* Present ideas and solutions clearly and concisely to senior team members and provide advice to less experienced colleagues.
* Meet all responsibilities as outlined in the RPS HSE policy and management systems.
* Participate in and/or lead any training and safety initiatives implemented by RPS.
* Take responsibility for the delivery of multiple water quality projects for specific client projects in accordance with project objectives, undertaking and leading processes in line with specific Client Standards and Specifications.
* Take responsibility for delivery of a large project and programmes of work including:
* Feasibility studies / options development.
* Scoping surveys and scheduling of work for survey teams and liaison during the projects.
* Plan and review intervention designs and delivery.
* Manage and review reporting processes.
* Proactively engage with stakeholders.
* Action any changes that impact your projects which have been agreed between the framework manager and the client.
Skills, Knowledge, and Experience
* Significant experience in an engineering background at a consultancy, water company or regulator.
* Good understanding of the water industry, regulatory frameworks, and water networks.
* Ability to apply current engineering practice and keep up to date with engineering best practice across broad and specialised areas.
* Experience in resource utilisation management relating to project delivery management.
* Pragmatic views to further enhance the service we deliver.
* Proven record of supporting the delivery of programmes of work to time, cost and quality in line with framework requirements and client specifications, managing change control, strategic risk and opportunities.
* Preferred experience in discipline-specific network applications.
* Ability to manage and manipulate large datasets, including time series data.
* Experience with GIS software (preferably MapInfo, ArcGIS, QGIS).
Qualifications
* Preferably degree qualified in a relevant technical subject. Postgraduate qualifications are an advantage.
* Chartership or working towards chartership for Senior or Principal grades.
* Affiliation with a professional institution like IET, InstMC, or CIWEM, or currently working towards membership and nearing application.
* Proficient in MS 365 applications.
