To provide national influence and clinical leadership to the health system at Executive and Director level and Ministers in Wales, focussing on improving outcomes for patients To work with clinical and operational colleagues at all levels to pursue the transformation of services in an equitable and sustainable manner and contribute to the overall reduction of waiting lists Lead regular All Wales meetings with regional and system-level colleagues to agree improvement priorities and review progress, with a key focus on the core improvement metrics in quality and productivity To provide leadership and build effective relationships with national clinical implementation network leads and senior clinical leads from relevant Colleges / etc. To utilise clinical expertise and the national role to promote and influence key Health Board Stakeholders to adopt and move forward with best practice and deliver upon ambitions and the associated improved outcomes for patients To work within the NHS Executive Quality function to assess implementation of recommended standards and pathways To regularly review progress with building a robust network of specialty clinical leads at regional and system levels and to work together to establish such structures where they do not yet exist To consider the appropriate population footprint for services in particular using criteria to recommend where services ought to be regionally, supra-regionally or nationally delivered.
