About the role:
We are recruiting for a professional Marketing Assistant to join our Marketing team based in Peterborough. This is a 12‑month fixed‑term contract, working between 25 and 30 hours per week, spread across 3–5 days (Monday to Friday). The role offers lots of flexibility and some home working options.
The successful Marketing Assistant will be part of the overall Marketing & BD team, focused on delivering growth, brand evolution, increasing PR profile, and delivering on core objectives working as part of a team.
We are looking for an individual who has an enthusiastic and positive working attitude as well as a creative flair and the ability to be self-motivated and take the hand-on approach to get the job done, using their own initiative to support the function of the team.
Key responsibilities in the Marketing Assistant role:
Marketing & Business Development Support
* Assist with all new projects across the wider Marketing and Business Development (MBD) team
* Carry out relevant market, client, and sector research
* Prepare research reports on clients and target organisations
* Maintain a library of brochures and marketing literature
* Organise marketing collateral and promotional items
* Source, order, and manage branded merchandise
Events, Networking & Hospitality
* Manage the marketing team and events diary
* Book internal stakeholders onto networking and external events
* Assist with event planning, set‑up, and break‑down
* Plan and organise photography for staff profiles and firm events
* Provide on‑site marketing support at events where required
Digital Marketing & Communications
* Assist with internal communications initiatives
* Proofread and format documents in line with firm branding guidelines
* Provide monthly reporting on digital marketing statistics and performance
Administration & Coordination
* Book travel arrangements as required
* Answer telephone enquiries, taking and passing on messages appropriately
* Organise and coordinate diaries and logistics related to marketing activity
Financial & Process Support
* Process marketing‑related invoices and payments
* Provide monthly proof of marketing expenditure and financial transactions to the finance department
* Act as the marketing representative at internal EDI, Green, and Charity Group meetings
* Work collaboratively with colleagues across the business to support firm‑wide initiatives
Qualifications / skills / experience:
* Educated to ‘A’-Level standard (or equivalent)
* Previous experience working in marketing at a professional services firm is desirable but not essential
* Excellent attention to detail
* Highly organised, ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities/projects
* Able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams and PowerPoint
* Experience working with Canva and WordPress is desirable but not essential
