The successful Design Manager will be responsible for driving delivery of all Capital design work on the East Sussex contract, liaising closely with Project Managers, Team Leads, and design subcontractors.
What you'll be doing
As a Design Manager, you will:
1. Drive the delivery of the design programme, working closely with Project Managers, Team Leads, and designers.
2. Ensure adherence to the Construction Design & Management Regulations 2015.
3. Review designs to ensure they are fit for purpose and meet current standards, minimizing liability risks.
4. Review fee proposals submitted by subcontracted design teams for accuracy and sufficiency.
5. Follow processes and plans to meet client service agreements and key performance indicators.
6. Monitor financial expenditure to meet profit and margin targets.
7. Develop and manage strategic relationships with customers and stakeholders to understand requirements and resolve issues promptly.
Who we're looking for
You will have:
1. Attitudes, conduct, and demeanour reflecting BB values and effective representation of the company.
2. Strong people management skills with experience in motivating teams.
3. Significant previous design management experience, including highways design and civil engineering.
4. A full driving licence.
5. Proficiency in MS Office applications.
6. Confident and clear communication and presentation skills.
7. Ability to influence within cross-functional teams.
