Tax Valuations Assistant Manager
Base Location: London, Manchester or Birmingham with hybrid working, see our network of 20 offices nationally:

What will you be doing?
1. Builds and develops positive constructive relationships inside and outside KPMG
2. Assesses problems from multiple angles to ensure all relevant issues are considered when making decisions
3. Proactively drives forward new and creative ideas which benefit the client
4. Supports the delivery of valuation projects within budget and timeframe under the assistance of a Manager or Senior Manager
5. Provides an analysis of the particular company / business being valued using business analysis techniques
6. Drafts comprehensive valuation reports with the assistance of a Manager or Senior Manager
7. Liaises with both the internal and external client to ensure that the two way flow of information runs smoothly
8. Researches the background of the particular company / business being valued, identifying broadly comparable quoted companies, identifying and analysing sales data and calculating exit multiples. All this is done using a wide range of research tools including Capital IQ, Mergermarket and our dedicated offshore research team.
What will you need to do it?
9. Valuations under ITEPA for management incentive plans
10. Valuations of shares and other assets such as intangibles for tax purposes;
11. Preparation of valuation reports and letters for UK tax purposes; and
12. Experience in dealing with HMRC’s Shares and Assets Valuation team.
13. Qualified CTA or ACA/CA or equivalent
14. Confident communicator
15. Strong excel skills
16. Good attention to detail and ability to operate in a project driven environment
17. A good understanding and broad range of transferable tax experience would be an advantage
18. Enthusiasm and eagerness to learn
However, candidates with a basic understanding of valuation techniques, a strong sense of commercial awareness and enthusiasm to learn will also be considered.
Skills we’d love to see/Amazing Extras
19. IFRS 2 valuation experience is beneficial but not essential.
