Post
The College is seeking to appoint a dynamic, enthusiastic and motivated teacher to join the highly successful Business Department. The post is available from 24 August 2026 on a permanent, full-time basis. The post would equally suit an experienced or Early Careers Teacher (ECT). For ECTs, a full programme of training and development will be provided. All new members of staff receive mentors to help them settle into the College. This post provides an exciting opportunity for those wishing to specialise in sixth form education. Candidates who have little or no experience teaching A Level Business or BTEC Business are still encouraged to apply, as the Department are able to support those wishing to make the transition to sixth form teaching.
Department
The Business Department is the largest in the College and is located in the Business Centre in fully equipped classrooms with access to IT. The team consists of sixteen other teachers, who work closely in a collaborative style, contributing to central teaching resources. The Department is split into A Level and Vocational Business, led by a Head of A Level Business and a Head of Vocational Business, supported by Course Leaders for each of the qualifications offered. Most teachers teach a combination of A Level and BTEC Business. The Departments meet once a week during the College's dedicated Meeting Slot during the College day. There are over 300 students studying A Level Business and around 650 studying BTEC Level 3 Business. The Departments have an excellent record of outstanding student achievement, high quality provision and innovative curriculum development. Students regularly progress onto university courses for Business, Accounting, Economics, Events Management, Marketing and Law, in addition to highly competitive apprenticeships.

Salary
The full-time equivalent salary for this post is up to £53,232 per annum. The contact time for a full-time teacher is 21 hours per week (20 hours teaching and 1 hour Tutor). ECTs receive a 5% or 10% reduction on their timetable depending on whether they are a first or second year ECT.
