We're looking for an Electrical Engineer to join our Architectural and Building Solutions team based in Liverpool.

Salary: Starting form £30,000 per annum

We're looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer (MEICA) to join Kier Design, supporting the delivery of safe, compliant and innovative solutions across water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
You'll lead on Electrical and ICA design from concept through to commissioningworking closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, cost-effective outcomes for our clients.
Are you
A Chartered Engineer or working towards Chartership (IET or equivalent)?
Experienced in water, wastewater or process industries?
Highly competent in Electrical & ICA design across infrastructure projects?
Confident interpreting P&IDs, SLDs and loop diagrams?
Familiar with cable design software (e.g. Amtech)?
A strong problem solver who can work under pressure?
Do you
Develop and deliver Electrical & ICA designs from feasibility through to construction?
Produce technical documentation including FDS, control philosophies and specifications?
Specify LV electrical equipment including MCCs, drives and power distribution systems?
Carry out cable sizing, calculations, earthing and installation design?
Define control systems, PLC/SCADA integration and telemetry architectures?
Collaborate with civil, mechanical and process engineers to deliver integrated solutions?
Undertake site visits, surveys and ensure SHE compliance?

What will you be responsible for?
As an Electrical Engineer, you'll support the delivery of schemes within the Kier Design team, including:
Lead Electrical & ICA (EICA) design and delivery across water and wastewater projects, from concept through to commissioning
Interpret and challenge client requirements to deliver compliant, buildable and cost-effective solutions
Develop designs, feasibility studies and value-engineered solutions to enhance project outcomes
Produce and review technical documentation including specifications, FDS and control philosophies
Specify electrical, control and instrumentation systems, including LV equipment and cable design
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and clients to deliver integrated solutions, ensuring SHE compliance across all project stages
What are we looking for?
This role of Electrical Engineer is great for you if you:
Are a Chartered Engineer (or working towards) with membership of a relevant body (IET or equivalent)
Have proven experience within water, wastewater or process industries, including pumping systems
Have a strong knowledge of engineering standards and Electrical & ICA design principles
Are competent in cable design (e.g. Amtech) and interpreting P&IDs, SLDs and loop diagrams
Have a sound understanding of SHE requirements and ability to operate safely in complex environments
Have strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to work under pressure and meet BPSS requirements
