Role: Medical Laboratory Assistant -LOC Location: HCA Laboratories and LOC Harley Street London Hours: 37.5 Hours per week. Monday – Friday between the hours of 07:30am – 19:00pm Contract Type: Fixed Term Contract Salary – Competitive Salary Benefits (pension, health cover, flexible benefits and excellent career development) We have an exciting opportunity for a Medical Laboratory Assistant to join our Satellite Lab at LOC Harley Street. The role involves triaging and booking samples into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), ensuring that specimen request forms are correctly entered. The candidate must have excellent interpersonal and organisational skills and be able to concentrate for extended periods, in order to deliver a high-quality service. We cover all disciplines in pathology including allergy, biochemistry and endocrinology, haematology and blood transfusion, histopathology and cytology, immunology, and microbiology and serology, with each laboratory equipped with the best available analytical instrumentation Duties & Responsibilities: To handle and sort samples and enter test requests into our laboratory computer system with accuracy. To engage in all specimen reception duties of answering telephone calls, seeing to visitors/couriers at the reception desk. What you will bring: Effective communication and able to work as part of a team Previous experience in a laboratory Able to follow instructions and learn standard procedures High level of concentration and work effectively under pressure Excellent customer service and IT skill required Be able to work under pressure due to rapid TAT requirement Why HCA UK?
