This beautiful Garden Centre & Sugarloaf Restaurant is located in the picturesque area of Monmouthshire, set in the heart of the Black Mountains. It's location makes this a tourist attraction as well as a regular customer base from the surrounding market towns; all with excellent road networks to the A465 and M4 corridor.
As Restaurant Team Leader you will have experience of working in a catering environment and the ability to support the Front of House Supervisor and Head Chef. You will lead from the front and inspire the team to demonstrate competent leadership and catering skills, showcasing outstanding food presentation and quality to maximise the customer experience and sales opportunities.
THIS IS A FULL TIME POSITION WHICH INCLUDES WORKING ALTERNATE WEEKENDS
NORMAL WORKING HOURS ARE 08:45 - 17:15 WITH THE FLEXIBILITY TO SUPPORT THE OCCASIONAL EVENING EVENT

AT LEAST 2 YEAR'S PROVEN EXPERIENCE OF WORKING IN A FAST PACED CUSTOMER FACING RESTAURANT – FRONT OF HOUSE
COMMERCIAL APPROACH WITH THE ABILITY TO DIVERSIFY QUICKLY IN A FOOD ENVIRONMENT
EXPERIENCE - YES BUT A GREAT PERSONALITY ESSENTIAL
Responsibilities:
* Support the retail operation throughout the Company
* To deputise in the absence of the Front of House Supervisor
* To support Head Chef and Front of House Supervisor to ensure daily service is delivered to the highest professional standard
* To deliver an efficient and cost effective front of house service
* To exceed sales targets through effective planning, team and customer engagement
* Support the Front of House Supervisor to deliver an effective people management process to maximise staffing levels; working within budget to include performance, rota's, attendance and holidays and staff training
* To create, display and present the highest quality products at all times
* Demonstrate excellent product knowledge, supporting the team with new product / menu ideas and displays
* Ensure the FOH team have the full support of the Kitchen to ensure cooking to order and service times are met
* Monitor food presentation and quality, reporting to Head Chef and Front of House Supervisor
* Support table service and counter service ensuring all food is served efficiently and meets presentation standards
* To support and implement seasonal events and activities
* Effectively manage customer complaints, ensuring the team are trained and confident in dealing directly with the customer; reporting all complaints to the Head Chef and Front of House Supervisor
* Accurately operate the EPOS system, cashing up procedure and reporting
* General administrative duties associated with an efficient catering environment
* Demonstrate excellent communication skills with customers and colleagues
* Maintain strict compliance with EHO / H&S standards and current legislation
* To maintain Level 5 Food Hygiene certification
* Demonstrate compliance with all existing company systems, procedures, work practices and housekeeping
* To be aware of the basic security policies and procedures and report issues as they arise
* Adhoc duties as requested by the Manager
* Ensure the Company is always represented professionally
Qualifications / Experience;
Good standard of education to GCSE level or equivalent
Level 2 Award in Food Safety - (quick online course - to be presented pre-start date)
Allergen Awareness - (free online course - to be presented pre-start date)
Minimum of 2 years' experience working in a fast paced customer facing restaurant
Barista trained
Excellent numeracy and literacy skills
Effective time management and prioritisation skills
