An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated, dynamic and experienced Registered Nurse with proven clinical skills in respiratory nursing to join a well developed and supportive multidisciplinary Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD) team.
You will need to have advanced skills caring for patients with respiratory disease with the vision and drive to develop new pathways and services. You will need to be an independent prescriber.
ILD is a constantly evolving service offering early supported discharge and admission avoidance to patients with ILD.
Flexibility and the desire to learn is essential, evidence-based practice is key to our service and success.
As a Specialist Nurse you will review patients both in an inpatient and ambulatory settings to provide advice and treatment. You will manage your own time in independently run clinics.
Working cross boundaries with members of the MDT team will be critical to this role, alongside working closely with primary and secondary care to promote service development.
As part of the team you will need to have excellent organisational and delegation skills, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The ability to lead the service and provide clinical advice and support to the wider team will be essential.
The successful candidate will also be expected to provide support to other services within the Respiratory Medicine footprint, this is therefore an exciting time to join a dynamic evolving service.
Main duties of the job
* The ability to manage your own caseload as part of the key worker role and plan care for our often-complex cases is fundamental to the success of the ILD service. Physical examination skills are also vital in the prevention of hospital avoidance and the care of patients post discharge.
* To provide clinical advice to all members of the interdisciplinary team, patients, carers and other agencies
* You will need to be an independent prescriber
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Qualifications
* MSc Evidence of CPD
* Teaching and assessing in clinical practice/Teaching qualification
* Independent prescribing

* Demonstrable experience in relevant specialty
* Experience of managing own caseload in relevant specialty
