We are looking for a Senior IT Technician to join our Trust IT Services department. The primary objective of this role is to deliver high-quality IT support across Turner Schools, providing senior technical expertise and acting as an escalation point for complex issues.
This is a predominantly customer-facing role with regular on-site presence. Excellent interpersonal skills, strong technical knowledge and a commitment to high-quality customer service are essential.
The expected working hours will be defined in the contract; however, for guidance they will typically be between 8am–4pm. The role will be based primarily at Folkestone Academy, with regular travel to other schools within the Trust as required. You will work closely with on-site technicians and benefit from being part of a wider Trust IT Department.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
* Provide senior (3rd line) technical support for escalated IT issues
* Install, configure and maintain ICT hardware, software and systems
* Support and maintain network and security systems
* Lead or support trust-wide IT projects and system improvements
* Contribute to the implementation of the Trust’s ICT strategy
* Maintain technical documentation and procedures
* Mentor and support IT Technicians
* Support staff and students with the effective use of ICT
* Keep up to date with ICT developments and best practice
Qualifications and Experience
* Significant experience supporting and maintaining ICT systems (education or multi-site experience preferred)
* Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
* Excellent customer service and communication skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Desired Skills and Experience
* Experience with Google Workspace and/or Microsoft 365
* Experience with network administration and security
* Experience supporting or leading IT projects
* Experience mentoring junior staff
* Full UK driving licence (preferred)
