Senior Piping Designer
Altrad is currently looking for a Senior Piping Designer to join the business to take ownership and responsibility for the execution of assigned work, working within a multi-discipline team to deliver fully integrated piping designs for major project scopes.
Key Deliverables
* Site surveys of piping systems, pipe supports, and connected items
* Determination of piping tie‑in points using basic process data, best practice, client specification, and consideration of the resulting scope
* Development of piping and equipment layouts, plot plans
* Development of piping isometrics/general arrangements/support drawings/3D models
* Import of laser scan data into 3D CAD packages
* Preparation of piping stress isometrics where required
* Marking of P&IDs to allow communication of scope boundaries with Process
* Preparation of piping material take‑offs
* Participation in model design reviews
* Review of client documentation, including drawings, with confirmation of validity against current plant configuration
Key Requirements
* HNC or equivalent in a technical/engineering design subject
* 10 years recent experience in a similar role
* Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D/3D, Aveva E3D, and similar drafting packages
* Experience of site work, manual layout methods and surveying
* Experience with level surveys, laser scanning, 3D modelling and other relevant technologies within a design environment
* Awareness or some knowledge of specialist areas such as pipe stress analysis and construction methods
* Development of layouts in 3D workspace
* Detailed experience of P&IDs and isometric piping drawings
* Site surveys and visual condition assessments
* Experience of Site H&S requirements, Code of conduct and sound ethics as required by Professional bodies and employers
