We have a fantastic opportunity for a permanent Security Guard working 4 on / 4 off days and nights.
Purpose of the Role:
The successful candidate will be responsible and accountable for the efficient and safe operation of site security and to prevent theft, trespass or damage to the site and its people.
Key responsibilities:
1. To act quickly during any emergency situation. Directing people towards safety and liaising with the emergency services and site engineers
2. Patrolling Wingates and Firebird sites when appropriate to ensure security presence is recognised reporting all issues and completing patrol log sheets
3. Logging of all visitors/contractors and delivery vehicles
4. Random Bag and vehicle checks
5. Cover for holidays and sickness within the security team
6. Accepting and logging all deliveries and contacting relevant managers
7. Monitor staff access and egress via swipe turnstile
8. Monitor CCTV coverage of the site for unusual activity and report
9. Keep accurate and up to date records of site activity
10. Control of Net2 security access cards – logging forgotten cards and issuing temporary replacement cards and visitor passes
11. Taking and logging of all external calls between 17.00pm and 08.00am
12. Taking, logging and reporting all employee absences within the business
13. Controlling all Flour deliveries to site, checking paperwork and performing flour QA Checks
14. Controlling and booking out all the company pool cars
15. Sending the agency requirements to the agency provider and booking all agency staff in on site and controlling the log sheets
16. Punctuality, clean and tidy appearance at all times also this position requires you to be on site before shift turnaround due to hand over procedures
17. Adhere to the company’s H&S policies and procedures
18. Adhere to the company’s Hygiene policies and procedures
19. Any other task the company deems necessary in line with business needs
Skills and Experience required:
20. Experience in a multi-site security role
21. Experience of dealing with difficult and sensitive situations in a diplomatic and professional manner
22. Personally Effective – excellent organisational skills, ability to prioritise and delegate
23. Effective verbal and written communication skills
24. Must be able to work alone or with a team
25. Must be able to work with technical equipment including CCTV, Radios and all PC applications
26. Being able to make decisions under extreme circumstances.
27. Security Industry Authority (SIA) qualification or relevant equivalent qualification.
