Job overview
We’re looking for compassionate, motivated individuals to join our Critical Care Units as Healthcare Support Workers. This is a rewarding opportunity to play a vital role in caring for some of our most vulnerable patients while working closely with our highly skilled Critical Care nursing team.
As a Healthcare Support Worker, you will support Registered Nurses in delivering the fundamentals of high‑quality patient care. This includes helping with personal care, repositioning, and supporting patients with eating and drinking. You’ll always work under the supervision of a Critical Care Nurse, and you’ll receive comprehensive training, ongoing support, and competency‑based development to help you thrive in this specialist environment.
Alongside direct patient care, you’ll help maintain a safe and well‑organised clinical area. This includes replenishing and rotating stock, checking for expired medicines, and disposing of them safely in line with Trust protocols. You will also carry out essential medicine safety checks and record these each shift.
This role is central to the delivery of safe, compassionate care for critically ill patients. Whether supporting someone on their recovery journey or ensuring dignity and comfort at the end of life, your contribution will truly matter.
