Job Description

Your Role

An opportunity has arisen for a Central Logistics Planner based in Corby, Northamptonshire. The main purpose of this role is to plan and manage the national movement of bagged product in the most cost effective and legally compliant manner.

Your Responsibilities

* Work safely and actively support the company's health and safety programs.
* Produce cost effective and legally compliant delivery schedules.
* Maximize payload fill and back loading opportunities at all times.
* Identify and implement cost saving opportunities.
* Ensure customer service expectations including delivery times are achieved.
* Ensure good team work and communication at all times.
* Provide cover for the Senior Planner role when required.
* Undertake administration duties as may be required to support planning and distribution.

Your Profile

* Educated to GCSE standard with Maths and English at Grade C or above.
* Working knowledge of UK road transport network.
* Either a holder of or willing to work towards a CPC for Transport Managers (Road Haulage) qualification.
* A good understanding of transport costings.
* Transport routing and scheduling experience.
* Able to demonstrate a good level of competence and experience working in transport scheduling.
* Able to demonstrate a good level of competence in road transport legislation (driver's hours etc).
* Competence in use of proprietary routing and scheduling software (ADM use DPS Logix).
* Competence in use of the key Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word).
* Good organisational and communication skills.
