Overview
As a Site Engineer you'll be working within the Nuclear team, supporting them in delivering the redevelopment project at the Dockyard. Your day to day will include:
Responsibilities
* Assist in the recording and testing of workmanship and materials, ie, drainage, concrete, piling, brickwork etc.
* Assist in providing engineering support to ensure technical problems are overcome and technical queries are answered.
* Responsible for setting out works constructed within allowable tolerances.
* Regularly checking the setting out points and benchmarks and checking that all setting out instruments and measuring equipment are delivered to site with a calibration certificate and recorded accordingly.
* Responsible for providing and maintaining setting out and dimensional control, to ensure accurate construction of the work.
Qualifications
* Degree qualification in civil engineering or equivalent is desirable - one or more of: BSc, BA, BEng, Meng, Eng, Tech, MICE, TIStructE, LCIBSE, LCIBSEEng Tech, Completion of Higher Apprenticeship.
* Familiar in Leica Survey equipment (GPS, Total Station, Optical & digital levels) for Setting Out & Survey
* Experience in similar role.
Security and Compliance
Due to the site being a high Security Military Naval base, additional security checks will need to be made - BPSS level of security clearance is required. These checks can take up to 8 weeks to process. Only candidates holding EU, NATO, 5 Eyes, or MISWG member passports and have been a UK residence for the last 5 years can be considered for this role.
