Job Title: Maintenance/Facilities Engineer
Reporting to: Maintenance / Facilities Supervisor
Purpose of Role
1. Working as part of the maintenance and facilities team, ensuring that plant, equipment, and facilities on site are maintained and are running correctly and safely.
2. Ensure that all work is carried out in a professional and safe manner and in accordance with current regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
3. Ensure Health & Safety is adhered and a high priority in the work areas
4. Mechanical maintenance and repair of plant, equipment and facilities on site.
5. Installation and replacement of equipment.
6. Mechanical fault finding on plant.
7. Machine and plant installations, replacement and repair ranging from high value projects to smaller improvement projects.
8. Perform planned, preventative maintenance tasks to the prescribed schedule.
9. Maintain site facilities ranging from infrastructure, communal facilities to include WC’s, drainage and groundworks
10. Perform all reasonable requests made by management.
Key Requirements:
11. Ideally City & Guilds Mechanical Maintenance or similar discipline qualified
12. Time served apprenticeship or demonstrable equivalent experience.
13. Mechanical experience in manufacturing machines, involving hydraulics and pneumatics, fault finding and repair.
14. Proven welding and fabrication experience.
15. Some electrical experience and knowledge.
16. A positive, problem-solving attitude and willing to learn new skills.
17. Be able to contribute to and work within a small team, whilst still able to work on own initiative.
18. To be flexible with working hours to support planned repairs and unplanned breakdowns.
19. You may be required on occasion to perform Ad hoc responsibilities to support business needs.
20. Resourceful and able to adapt to changing priorities and maintain a positive attitude and possess a strong work ethic
Desirable:
21. Experience and knowledge of lean engineering principles and techniques.
22. Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment, preferably aerospace or automotive, particularly hot, and cold forming presses.
23. Experience working with and supervising external contractors
