Cheshire East Council are looking to recruit Arborists to join our busy Arboriculture team.
We are looking for somebody who will be committed to providing an effective frontline service to the residents of Cheshire East in a courteous and professional manner. You will be expected to undertake a variety of tree works both on the parks and open spaces maintained by the council as well as sites relating to commercial contracts.

As a professional Arborist, you will assist in the provision of the Arborist team by:
2. Carrying out arboricultural works across the borough, ensuring that work is always carried out effectively and safely. This will include working at height and ground-based operations.
3. Safely climbing trees regularly using a variety of climbing aids and systems, and to be confident and capable to work at height.
4. Using full safety and climbing equipment in an approved manner and in accordance with current safety guidelines and industry best practice.
5. Demonstrating good health & safety practices such as the completion of site-specific risk assessments.
6. Deploy, operate, and maintain vehicles, machinery, and equipment safely and in an effective manner.
7. Providing an effective response to scheduled and ad hoc tree works that will vary on a day-to-day basis.
8. Being prepared to work at any site located within the Cheshire East Borough.
9. Working in a safe and efficient manner following Ansa’s policies, procedures, risk assessments and safe working practices.
10. Content in working outside in all weather conditions.
11. Completing all relevant documentation and records (handwritten and electronic) in a timely and comprehensive manner in line with agreed policies and procedures.
In order to apply for this role, applicants should have:
12. A full UK driving licence. (B+E or C1+E trailer entitlement is desirable, but not essential).
13. A good base knowledge of tree species identification, arboricultural operations and practices.
14. Lantra or NPTC qualifications CS30, CS31, CS38 and CS39 qualifications or equivalent (CS32, CS40, CS41, CS47 and Mewp operator qualifications are desirable but not essential).
15. Certified to operate a Woodchipper.
16. Knowledge of working at height regulations.
17. Effective communication skills.
18. A flexible and can-do attitude.
19. Emergency at work first aid qualification.
