 
        
        Job Summary
The Infection Prevention and Control Service (IPCS) hosts and provides the Trust Fit Testing for FFP3 masks for all staff. We are seeking an enthusiastic, reliable and committed Fit Tester who will deliver specialist advice on Fit Testing via the single point of access email for Fit Testing enquiries, manage bookings, and provide proactive and reactive support for infection prevention and response during outbreaks. The role supports the delivery of PPE training and auditing in clinical areas and provides comprehensive administrative support to the DGT Fit Testing Programme.
Key Responsibilities
 * Support the development, roll‑out, maintenance and monitoring of a sound and effective Respiratory Protective Equipment (RPE) and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Programme across DGT using the Plan‑Do‑Check‑Act methodology.
 * Provide comprehensive assistance and support to the Infection Prevention and Control Service, including administrative, data‑analysis, and practical tasks of setting up, delivering, and post‑delivery actions on RPE and PPE training.
 * Manage a calendar for scheduling face‑fit testing lessons, PPE training and audits.
 * Use Engage and the Mandatory and Statutory Training (MAST) tracker to manage appointments, attendance and gather and analyse data.
 * Input face‑fit test results into departmental spreadsheets and keep the data accurate and up to date.
 * Maintain systems for tracking staff FFP3 mask passes and reusable RPE masks/hoods and filters.
 * Coordinate with procurement to ensure an adequate supply of FFP3 masks for fit testing.
 * Promote face‑fit testing at staff induction events and promotional campaigns.
 * Travel to other sites as required to support DGT staff across the community and off Darent Valley Hospital site.
 * Rotate base and manage training equipment required for the programme.
 * Deliver PPE training and auditing in clinical areas.
Essential Requirements
 * Health and social care NVQ Level 3 or equivalent experience in a healthcare setting.
 * Fit‑Testing Training – Fit2Fit or equivalent.
 * Good general education including GCSE English and GCSE Maths.
 * Experience in a fit‑tester role and practical experience of training delivery.
 * Ability to manage diaries, bookings and appointments accurately.
 * Excellent IT skills (MS Office, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Forms).
 * Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation relating to Fit Testing.
 * Strong communication skills and ability to work with minimal supervision.
 * Evidence of CPD and organisational skills.
Desirable Add‑ons
 * Willingness to undertake further training on H&S, Fit Testing, EPRR, IPC.
 * Knowledge and experience of using a wide range of Respiratory Protective Equipment such as different FFP3 mask models and Powered Air Purifying Respirators.
 * Experience working in an NHS organisation.
Employment Details
Band 4, Salary: £28,860 to £31,671 per annum inclusive of allowances. Permanent full‑time contract. Base location: Darent Valley Hospital, Darenth Wood Road, Dartford, DA2 8DA.
