As an Associate Lead Environment Artist, you will play a critical role in shaping the visual quality of our game worlds. Working closely with the Lead Environment Artist and the Art Director, you will assist in directing and mentoring other environment artists while contributing your own artistic skills to produce high-quality assets that are both visually stunning and optimized for performance.
You should have a strong understanding of the artistic and technical aspects of environment production and the ability to communicate these effectively to your team. Your contributions will help ensure that our environments deliver memorable experiences for players.
Key Duties Include
* Support the Lead Environment Artist in creating a unified artistic vision for the game's environments, ensuring that they align with the overall aesthetic and design goals
* Contribute to the creation of high-quality 3D models, textures, and materials for various environmental assets, including landscapes, props, and architecture
* Mentor and provide feedback to junior artists, fostering collaboration and professional development within the team
* Participate in the planning and organization of tasks within the environment art team, ensuring that deadlines and quality standards are met
* Collaborate cross departmentally with Level Designers, Technical Artists, and Engineers to ensure seamless integration of environment assets into the game
* Stay up to date with industry trends and technologies, sharing insights to improve team workflows and asset production

Requirements
* Strong portfolio showcasing recent work in environment art, demonstrating technical skills as well as artistic ability
* Experience in a professional environment art role, or as a junior artist looking to step into a leadership position
* Proficient with industry-standard 3D software such as Maya, 3DSMax, Blender, and texturing tools like Substance Painter and Photoshop
* Good understanding of real-time rendering and performance optimization for game engines
* Excellent communication skills for effective feedback and collaboration
* Ability to manage time and prioritize tasks to meet project milestones
Desirable
* Experience with Unreal Engine or similar game engines
* Keen interest in the latest technologies and trends in game art and production
