This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Indirect Buyer to join a global manufacturing business in Sunderland. You will be joining their Purchasing function to support business development in an industry and organisation with high growth potential.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\n * Build and maintain strong connections with Global Purchasing to identify strategies and to develop suppliers both globally and locally.\n\n * Gather Market Intelligence, identify major categories, analyse current spend & develop an optimal Indirect Strategy Plan\n\n * Deliver the strategy through supplier relationships & multiple projects (CAPEX, Service, Energy, Maintenance, T&L contracts)\n\n * Focus on & deliver strategic proactive tenders for the identified Indirect approved suppliers & purchase spend.\n\n * Lead negotiations, supplier selection & align functional requirements\n\n * Increase control & management of Service Contracts - e.g. best practice and avoid termination penalties; YOY cost reductions.\n\n * Work with Indirect Senior Purchasing Manager & internal functions to establish QCD targets, objectives and deliver against targets KPIs.\n\n * Ensure day to day issues are managed with relevant plant personnel resulting in improved quality/logistical performance.\n\n * Provide support to the Purchasing Officer for continuous improvements in supplier quality & OTIF for indirect parts.\n\n * When required manage release of Indirect Purchase Orders from SAP system.\n\nSkills, Knowledge and Expertise\n\n * You will ideally be educated to degree level and currently be working within an indirect Purchasing role within a manufacturing environment and will have built up experience of at least 5 years of supplier engagement, negotiation, and cost reduction.\n\n * Strong leader to influence, be able to work to tight deadlines, have a good sense of priority and have previous negotiation experience.\n\n * Excellent communication skills are crucial to this role, as is the ability to build relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.\n\n * You should possess strong industrial awareness by investigating new supply markets to assess existing and new supplier capabilities\n\n * You must hold a full driving licence.\n\n * Some degree of travel may be required.\n\n * CIPS or MCIPS is a requirement for this role.\n\nBenefits\n\n * 26 days holiday plus bank holidays\n\n * Holiday purchase / sell scheme\n\n * Enhanced life assurance\n\n * Enhanced pension scheme\n\n * Enhanced maternity / paternity pay\n\n * Dental plan\n\n * Flexible working office roles
