Our client, a leading civil engineering contractor specialising in infrastructure and water sector projects, is currently looking to appoint a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Glasgow.
Key Responsibilities for Senior Quantity Surveyor:
* Act as a key commercial point of contact for specialist subcontractors and project stakeholders.
* Provide guidance and support on contractual and commercial matters throughout project delivery.
* Ensure contracts are administered in line with company procedures and commercial objectives.
* Assist in protecting the companys commercial position through effective contract management and risk mitigation.
* Provide regular updates to senior commercial leadership regarding subcontractor performance and project commercial status.
* Support the pricing, assessment, and negotiation of project variations and compensation events across multiple work scopes.
* Monitor and manage project costs to ensure expenditure remains within approved budgets.
* Assist in the preparation of monthly cost reports, valuations, and financial forecasts.
* Support procurement and subcontract package management activities, including tender reviews and contract administration.
* Carry out quantity measurement and valuation of completed works.
* Prepare projected final account reports, including tracking the status of variations and commercial changes in collaboration with project teams.
* Contribute to work-in-progress reporting and financial performance reviews.
* Assist in managing allocated commercial resources and ensuring value-driven project delivery.
* Ensure compliance with internal policies relating to health & safety, sustainability, equality, environmental standards, and data protection requirements.
Requirements for Senior Quantity Surveyor:
* Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related commercial discipline.
* Proven experience operating as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor within construction or infrastructure projects.
* Strong knowledge and practical experience working with NEC contracts, particularly NEC3 and NEC4 Option C.
* Effective negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
* Ability to manage workloads independently and prioritise tasks to meet deadlines.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving capability with excellent attention to detail.
* Confident preparing and presenting commercial information to a range of stakeholders.
* Good organisational and time management skills.
* Competent in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
