Can you be the driving force as our Construction Project Manager (No1) delivering our school project schemes. The project will manage the redevelopment of the Rosedale College in Hayes. You will be managing the demolition of 1960s buildings and delivery of new teaching and performing arts blocks, a refurbished STEM facility, improved sports fields and Multi-Use Games Areas, and new dining and social spaces. Temporary accommodation will also be removed to restore existing sports facilities.
We require an experienced construction professional who is well versed in the delivery of a project from cradle to grave. With the capacity to work as No1 on the project. A key feature of this project will be its dedication to achieving net zero carbon in operation, highlighting the importance of sustainability to the Department for Education and Bouygues UK.
Job Purpose & Scope:
You will be solely responsible for the economic safe management of the site in respect of progress, workmanship, health, safety, environmental and quality standards by ensuring that adequate and proper labour, plant, materials and sub-contractor resources are available and adequately directed to meet the requirements of the contract.
You will have skills and experience in the following:
Degree or equivalent in an Engineering or Construction discipline
Extensive experience working with a main contractor
Proven experience of previous DfE projects
Strong knowledge of UK building regulations
Excellent Leadership and Financial Control skills
Results oriented
Thorough understanding of UK H&S construction laws
Stress Management skills
High levels of quality standards
Keen attention to H&S matters
Ability to handle multiple tasks at once
Innovative and able to identify and implement new ways to do things to achieve better ways of working
Proven technical knowledge and a profit minded ability
General Duties:
To be solely responsible for the Project, health, safety and the environment, as contained within the Health and Safety Management System. Where unsure and assistance is required liaise with the appointed Health and Safety Advisor. Actively lead by example at all times ensuring that all working relationships with internal and external customers are consistent and to the highest standards. Ensure that the company gets the best out of its subcontractors and suppliers, by proper selection and management in conjunction with the project team. Work with the commercial and procurement teams to ensure proper protection of the company’s financial and contractual position. Ensure that for all activities you are responsible for, all company process/standards laid down in the Business Quality Management System are adhered to. Manage all disciplines, i.e. Surveying, Design Management, Buying, Planning, Human Resources, Health, Safety and Environment, to provide effective management of the project.
