* Location: Port Talbot (4 days site-based, 1 day remote)
* Salary/Rate: £25.00 - £31.60 per hour Inside IR35 (Up to £60,000)
* Duration: Fixed term until March 2028
* Schedule: Mon-Fri, 08:30-16:45 Mon-Thu and 08:30-15:45 Fri
Key Responsibilities
You will lead the commercial and contractual management of large-scale construction and civil engineering works. Your day-to-day will involve:
* Budgeting: Preparing and reporting on project budgets, forecasts, and cost plans.
* Contract Management: Negotiating variations and change orders under NEC and FIDIC frameworks.
* Procurement: Overseeing subcontracting from tender through to final accounts.
* Leadership: Mentoring junior staff and fostering a high-performing commercial culture.
* Collaboration: Liaising with engineers and planners to ensure total project alignment.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
* A degree in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management and Chartered status (RICS/CIOB).
* Substantial experience in heavy industry, power, or major civil engineering projects.
* Deep knowledge of NEC 3/4, FIDIC, and/or JCT contracts.
* A valid driving licence and your own vehicle
* Strong negotiation skills, analytical thinking, and the ability to manage complex stakeholders.
