The ideal candidate should be familiar with the Electrical Utilities Market (e.g., DNO, IDNO, ICP, EV, Renewables, rail sectors, or export markets), possess excellent communication skills, and hold an HNC or higher in electrical engineering.

Job Dimensions
As a member of the sales and tendering team, you will be on the front line, handling initial customer contact via email, phone and web, addressing technical product questions, and creating and issuing sales materials and quotations. You will work closely with Sales Channel Heads and other departments, ensuring best‑in‑class customer service and supporting the external sales team’s activities. The position may require travel within the UK and to customer premises.
Key Accountabilities
* Assist the Sales Teams with tender preparation, administration, contract handover, and sales generation.
* Gather and analyse sales data, supporting the return actions.
* Communicate customer requirements internally.
* Manage customer order handover to Customer Services/Contract Management.
* Follow up on open tenders.
* Provide support to UK distributors.
* Respond to Level 1 technical queries via phone or email.
* Execute additional duties as required to improve efficiency, quality, and service.
* Comply with company policies, procedures, and confidentiality requirements.
* Receive and review customer enquiries via email, telephone and web portals.
* Review specification documents, technical drawings and schematics to match product applications.
* Champion customer enquiries internally, coordinating with Operations, Technical, Marketing, Quality, Logistics, Finance, Customer Services, and Legal.
* Complete Customer Pre‑qualification questionnaires.
* Author customer quotations and bespoke tenders.
* Maintain tender procedures and documentation (templates, literature, IOMs, type test certificates).
* Operate and update the CRM system.
* Manage archive control.
Qualifications, Knowledge, and Experience
Minimum Qualifications
* GCSE in Maths, English and a Science or ICT subject.
* Competent use of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
* Experience quoting capital equipment worldwide using engineering drawings and technical specifications.
Desirable Qualifications
* Familiar with the UK Electrical Utilities Market (DNO or IDNO, ICP, EV, Renewables, rail sectors).
* Experience in B2B sectors such as Oil & Gas, Infrastructure, or Transportation.
* Familiarity with export markets, INCO terms, and tender bonds.
* Experience with CAD applications and project management tools.
* Degree/HND/GNVQ qualification in Electrical Engineering.
Essential Skills
* Experience administering a CRM application.
* Experience with project management techniques and tools.
Desirable Skills
* Understanding of contractual and INCO terms and conditions.
* Application of commercial terminology (e.g., margins and factors).
