Are you someone who enjoys making a real difference in young people’s lives? We’re looking for a caring and committed Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming secondary school in Caerphilly this September.
This is a full-time role, supporting pupils in Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 within a mainstream classroom setting. The role is ideal for someone who can build positive relationships and isn’t fazed by challenging behaviour — someone who knows that the right support can change a pupil’s whole school experience.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist teachers in delivering tailored support to students with various special educational needs
* Provide one-on-one support to students during lessons and activities.
* Learning approaches include sensory activities, practical lessons, and structured individual development plans.
* Help maintain a positive and engaging learning environment.
* Support the development of students' social skills and confidence.
* Work collaboratively with teaching staff and other support staff.

What we’re looking for:
* No formal qualifications are required, though experience with children or in a similar role is preferred - Whether you’ve worked in education before or have experience in youth work, care, coaching, residential care or behaviour support
* Someone who’s patient, adaptable, and positive
* Experience supporting pupils with challenging behaviour (in or out of school settings)
* Passion for supporting children with SEN and a positive attitude.
* A team player who’s confident supporting in a busy classroom
Requirements:
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (We’ll help you apply).
* Education Workforce Council (EWC) registration (We’ll assist with the application).
* Two references from previous employers or relevant roles.
