We are currently looking for a Network Design Engineer to join a high-performing engineering team focused on the reconfiguration and reinforcement of the UK’s distribution network.
Given your technical background in electrical distribution, I believe your expertise would be a significant asset for this particular programme of work.
The Role at a Glance:
* Network Reinforcement: Design complex schemes to replace, reconfigure, and reinforce LV and HV (11kV/20kV) networks.
* System Modelling: Utilise industry-standard tools (such as IPSA, DINIS, or PI) to complete studies, specifying fault-location and protection requirements.
* Infrastructure Delivery: Design for the installation of distribution substation plant, equipment, and network automation for ground-mounted and overhead systems.
* Strategic Connections: Develop designs for new LV/HV connections, ensuring all schemes meet Ofgem’s guaranteed standards of performance.
* Flexibility: Based out of either Leeds or Colchester, offering a hybrid working arrangement.
What we are looking for:
* Proven experience in electrical distribution network design (LV up to 20kV).
* Proficiency in network modelling software and a strong understanding of protection requirements.
* The ability to act as a technical point of contact, liaising with external customers and stakeholders to ensure scheme requirements are met.
* A focus on quality and a track record of delivering designs within regulated performance timeframes.
If you are looking for a role that offers deep technical involvement in the modernisation of the grid, we would love the chance to have a discussion.
If this role isn't the right fit for you at this time, but you have a colleague or friend who might be interested, please do share their details or pass this along. We offer a fantastic referral incentive for any candidate successfully placed into a new position
