Overview
The Environment Agency is looking for two Benefits and Efficiencies Analysts to join the Transformation Portfolio Management Office (PMO) within the Strategy, Transformation and Assurance (STA) directorate. The PMO focuses on creating a centralised portfolio that drives change, transformation, and continuous improvement. This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in change and transformation with strong team support and development opportunities.
You will analyse data from PMO colleagues and project/programme managers across the portfolio, help set standards for benefits and value management, and assist in embedding them. You will help teams identify, value and validate their project benefits.
Responsibilities
* Analyse data from PMO colleagues and project/programme managers across the portfolio to support decision-making and risk management.
* Help set and embed standards for benefits and value management.
* Identify, value, and validate project benefits in collaboration with cross‑functional teams.
* Develop and maintain dashboards or reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, or advanced Excel) to communicate insights clearly to non-technical audiences.
* Collaborate across organisational boundaries and build constructive relationships to support change and transformation initiatives.
* Produce guidance, toolkits, or frameworks to assist colleagues in applying benefits and efficiencies practices.
Experience and Qualifications
* Strong analytical skills with proven experience as a Benefits Analyst, Efficiencies Analyst, or Business Analyst.
* Experience building and maintaining dashboards or reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau, or advanced Excel).
* Ability to work collaboratively across organisational boundaries and build constructive relationships.
* Clear communication skills, able to explain complex analysis simply and persuasively to non-technical audiences.
* Self-motivation and adaptability; comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
* Experience producing guidance, toolkits, or frameworks to support colleagues.
* Ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures; actively consider diversity in work.
* Development opportunities and appropriate training will be provided.
Working Arrangements and Other Details
* Hybrid working location; EA Office base with national coverage.
* Some travel and overnights may be required.
* Applications are assessed on competency questions (blinded process).
* Interviews via MS Teams during the week commencing 3 November 2025.
