Main duties of the job
Pharmacy Procurement Assistant
The Pharmacy is equipped with a £1.7m purpose built department consisting of licensed aseptic production and gene therapy preparation facilities. It is a friendly, forward thinking and dynamic department.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Pharmacy Assistant with either an NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Practice, or an NVQ Level 2 Diploma, although, if not possessed, this may be offered to the right candidate. This will, however, be reflected in your initial banding. There will be the opportunity to register with the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) to work towards a Level 2 certificate in procurement and supply operations.
You will be a good team player, possess good people and organisational skills, be able to work alone as well as in a team, and able to work under pressure in this environment. They should also have stock control and inventory management skills.
The successful candidate will be part of the pharmacy procurement team and responsible for maintaining departmental stocks of medicines and consumable items including procurement, receipt and storage.
Qualifications
* GCSE or equivalent passes in Maths, English and a Science
* NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in pharmacy practice
* Willing to register with the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) to work towards a Level 2 certificate in procurement and supply operations
* Certificate in procurement and supply operations
Knowledge and Expertise
* Ability to work to set procedures
* Knowledge of the commercial medicines unit (CMU) and procurement methods
Experience
* Pharmacy experience
* Stock control experience
