Senior Management Accountant
Location: Lincolnshire
Contract: Fixed-term (up to 12 months)
Salary: £52,000 per annum
Working Pattern: 5 days per week (On-site)

Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Senior Management Accountant to join our Finance team on a fixed-term contract of up to one year. Reporting directly to the CFO, this role will lead a team of four Management Accountants and play a key part in delivering accurate, timely, and insightful financial reporting.
The successful candidate will support the preparation of monthly management accounts, work closely with curriculum departments, and prepare financial papers for the governing body. This role requires someone who thrives under tight deadlines, communicates effectively with senior stakeholders, and brings strong sector experience—ideally within Further Education (FE) or wider education.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead, support, and coordinate the work of four Management Accountants.
• Deliver high-quality monthly management accounts to agreed deadlines.
• Collaborate with curriculum and departmental leads to ensure accurate budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
• Work closely with the CFO to prepare governing body papers and provide clear financial insights.
• Assist with year-end processes (majority of work already completed).
• Ensure all financial information is accurate, compliant, and aligned with organisational standards.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, controls, and reporting efficiency.
• Act as a key point of support for the CFO across financial planning and operations.
Person Specification
Essential:
• Fully qualified accountant (CIMA or ACCA).
• Demonstrable experience within the Further Education sector (or wider education).
• Strong management accounting experience, including preparation of monthly accounts.
• Ability to lead and coordinate a small finance team.
• Highly organised with the ability to work to tight deadlines.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with senior stakeholders and curriculum leads.
• Proactive, solutions-focused, and able to work independently.
Desirable:
• Experience preparing papers for Board or governing bodies.
• Experience supporting a CFO or senior finance leadership team.
