Role and Service Details
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Child Health Occupational Therapy Service for recruitment of a Band 5 or Band 6 Occupational Therapist (depending on experience) to join our team for 12 months. Our service provides a three tiered model of service delivery including universal, targeted and specialist interventions to children and young people from birth to 18 years across Tayside. This post will be within the Dundee and Angus locality team, based within Armitstead Child Development Centre, Dundee.
The post offers the opportunity to work with a range of children and young people and to gain or improve specialist skills in Child Health Occupational Therapy. You will work in community settings including home visits, mainstream schools and outpatient clinics. You will work closely with a wide range of professionals and agencies including other health professionals, education and social work.
We are looking for an individual who has good communication skills and is committed to multi-disciplinary team working. Applicants should have a Diploma/Degree in Occupational Therapy and HCPC registration. The Occupational Therapy Service offers supervision, appraisal, regular in-service training and is committed to Continued Professional Development.
Responsibilities
• Deliver occupational therapy assessments and interventions for children and young people from birth to 18 years within the three-tier service model (universal, targeted, specialist).
• Work across diverse settings including home visits, schools, and outpatient clinics.
• Collaborate with a wide range of professionals and agencies including health, education and social work.
• Participate in supervision, appraisal and continuing professional development activities.
Qualifications
• Diploma or Degree in Occupational Therapy.
• HCPC registration.
Work Details
• Band 5 or Band 6 post, 12 month fixed term/secondment contract, 37 hours per week.
• Location: Dundee and Angus locality team, Armitstead Child Development Centre, Dundee.
• Current NHS Tayside employees: written approval from line manager is required prior to applying for this secondment.
